Mr. Valdespino, Godan (5th Dan Black Belt) , Head Instructor


Mr. Valdespino
started training in the summer of 1989 under Master Gaston, becoming one of the original members of OSMAS and earned the rank of Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) in July 1993, becoming the youngest Black Belt in OSMAS. He was promoted to the rank of Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt) in September 1994. In October 1995 Mr Valdespino was promoted to the rank of Sandan (3rd Dan Black Belt) and became a Senior Instructor. Mr Valdespino was promoted to the rank of Yodan (4th Dan Black Belt) in November 1999, and was granted the right to use the name Olympik Style Martial Arts Studio by Master Gaston, as he continued to work at improving the OSMAS system of Kenpo. In April 2008 Mr Valdespino was Promoted to Godan (5th Dan Black Belt).  Mr Valdespino is 1 of only 2 OSMAS Black Belts awarded the Ranking of 1st degree Black Belt by Grand Master McManness making him a direct descendant of the Cobra Karate System. Mr Valdespino brings with him a wide variety of experience to include; Tournament Point Fighting- Rated #1 Sr. Black Belt  & #2 Black Belt Heavy Weight Division's- U.K.A. (United Karate Alliance) 2008, #3 Black Belt Heavy Weight Division M.M.A. (Mid- West Martial Arts Association) 1994, Kick Boxing- C.KC. (Contact Karate Commission), serving in the United States Marine Corps and becoming a Police Officer- serving in the Special Operations Bureau (S.W.A.T.)

Mr. Arbenz, Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt) Sr. Instructor

Mr. Arbenz
is a 1st Generation Black Belt of Olympik Style Martial Arts Studio. He started his training at Olympik Style Martial Arts Studio and earned his Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) and became an Assistant Instructor, under Master Gaston with  the assistance of Mr Valdespino. Mr Arbenz continued stay in contact and train with Mr Valdespino after the OSMAS closed its doors. Sensei Arbenz  was promoted to the rank of Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt), in July 2007 by Mr Valdespino. In  July 2009 Sensei Arbenz was recognized as the "Instructor of the Year".  Sensei Arbenz brings with him the experience of being a Top Point Tournament Fighter, trained in Datio- Akijiutsu, as well as also serving in the United States Navy.

Mr. Robertson, Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) Sr Instructor 

Mr. Robertson started his traning with Sensei Valdespino at the age of 14 in a sub- studio in the back of a weight lifting gym (Pumping 2 Please) in Jennings, Missouri.  The sub- studio was forced out a short time later, due to expansion of the gym, and his training continued at Olympik Style Martial Arts Studio, and he became a "Red Belt" Instructor (until earning his Brown Belt), with Master Gaston and Mr Valdespino.  Mr Robertson returned to Olympik Style Martial Arts Studio upon it's re-opening and was promoted to Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) in July 2007 by Mr Valdespino. Mr Robertson was rated as a 2007 Finalist in the UKA (United Karate Alliance) Men's Middle Weight Black Belt Sparring Division and in Black Belt Weapons Kata Division. Mr Robertson was the "Team Leader" for the Impact Karate Team.  In July 2009 Mr Robertson was recognized as the "Sparring Instructor of the Year".

Mrs Valdespino
started her training with Olympik Style Martial Arts Studio on the first day  it re-opened in 2007. Mrs Valdespino earned the rank of Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) in Sept. 2010, becoming the 1st Female Black Belt of OSMAS. She was granted the rank of a "Red Belt" Instructor in April 2008, as she had shown much dedication to her training and the willingness to teach others.  Mrs Valdespino also developed and teaches the Cardio- Karate Aerobics for women and young ladies. Mrs. Valdespino was recognized as the "New Back Bone of O.S.M.A.S." in July 2009. Mrs Valdespino is a full time college student and attends the University of Missouri- St. Louis.
